Wellness
The Silver Lake Wellness Program integrates courses from the two contributing disciplines of Health Education and Physical Education. The program is designed to provide a variety of topics/activities to students’ grades 9-12 with an emphasis on providing health education over a span of 4 years. Students will complete grade level required courses (health education and fitness components) and have the ability to choose elective courses across their 4 year high school experience.
- Each student must complete 10 credits to meet graduation requirements
- Each 9th grader will complete a yearlong course made up of 8 mini-units of which half are required and grade specific and the other half in elective units with students grades 9-12
- Each 10th grader will complete a semester course consisting of 4 mini-units of which 2 are required and grade specific and 2 are elective units with students grades 9-12
- Each 11th grader will complete a semester course consisting of 4 mini-units of which 2 are required and grade specific and 2 are elective units with students grades 9-12
- Each 12th grader will complete a semester course consisting of 4 mini-units of which 1 is required and grade specific and 3 are elective with students grades 9-12
