Carpentry students spend half of their time working on live residential construction projects and half of their time refining their woodworking skills in an active carpentry and cabinetmaking shop. All carpentry instructors have construction trade experience and hold a Massachusetts Construction Supervisor’s License.

Certifications or licenses you may earn in this program:

  • Carpentry & Cabinetmaking Program Certificate
  • 10-Hour OSHA Safety Training
  • 30-Hour OSHA Safety Training

Which skills are learned?

Framing, carving, joinery, architectural woodwork, finish carpentry.

What type of job can you get after graduation?

Carpenter’s helper, carpenter, first-year apprentice, concrete form builder, framer, roofer, door/window installer, cabinet and furniture maker, flooring installer, architectural woodworker, stair builder, modular home construction, insulation installer, set design and construction.

With additional training / education, what jobs are available?

Construction manager, licensed contractor, home builder, architect, engineer, building inspector.
