Allied Health students learn the skills needed to be successful in the health care field. Students train in both an in school skills lab and a real-life clinical setting. Students will test to earn their CNA by the end of their junior year. Topics covered include medical laws and ethics, patient care, medical terminology, and anatomy and physiology. The course is taught by a registered nurse (RN).

- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
Which skills are learned?
CPR/first aid, patient care, bed making, positioning and transfer of patients, monitoring vital signs, mouth/denture care.
What type of job can you get after graduation?
Certified nursing assistant, dietary aide, geriatric aide, home health care aide, rehabilitation aide.
With additional training / education, what jobs are available?
Registered nurse, medical doctor, physical therapist, EMT/paramedic, medical assistant, phlebotomist, respiratory technician, imaging technician, medical records technician, laboratory technician.
